B.A.G.
Corp. History |
| In 1969 the agriculture
industry was struggling with inefficient, awkward, and expensive crop
dusting product handling methods. The only way to load product into
a crop duster was to manually break fifty pound bags, wasting a great
deal of time and product. Recognizing both the problem and the solution,
Robert R. "Bob" Williamson saw that the FIBC container as an efficient
way to load product into the crop duster. With this idea, he helped
to pioneer the FIBC industry into what it is today. It didn't take
long before the potential for more diverse applications for the FIBC
was realized. Shortly thereafter B.A.G. Corp. (Better Agricultural
Goals Corp.) was formed, trademarking the Super Sack® container.
Until 1974 all FIBCs in the
United States were made from PVC fabric and imported from Japan.
With the expansion into diverse product applications the Super Sack®
container evolved to the woven polypropylene container supplied
today. Ced Derby joined B.A.G. Corp. to establish our manufacturing
base and engineering the container into the various designs currently
available. |
