    Example:
Customer wants to ship 2,200 lbs. of alfalfa seed per container.

LEGEND
EH Empty Height
FH Fill Height
LBS. Pounds
1    What size container do you need?
2,200 lbs / 48 lbs. per ft3
(Bulk Density of Alfalfa Seed per ft3 = 48 lbs.)
.
Therefore a 46 ft3 Super Sack® container is needed.
2  Next you need to determine the FH and the EH.
46 ft3 / .92(factor - see chart below) = 50" FH (+4" = 54" EH)
3  Your size specification would be:
35" x 35" x 54" (50" Filled Height) with a 45" Diameter, and 2,200 lbs. product capacity.

Formulas:
  Diameter:   Factor:
36" .588
45" .92
48" 1.064
50" 1.128
55" 1.362
22" .229

Fill Height of FIBC:
Ft3 / Factor = FH"
Empty Height of FIBC:
FH" + 4" = EH"
Cubic Feet of FIBC:
FH x Factor = Ft3
Cubic Feet Capacity of FIBC:
Ultimate Weight of FIBC / Bulk Density of Product = Ft3
Diameter of FIBC:
Side Panel Width x Number of Panels / 3.1416 = Dia.

Note: A four-panel FIBC will round out after being filled.
Sizing calculations are based on a cylinder form.
